Tired of Penalties Due to Overlooked Tax Due Dates?

When you are running a business it can be overwhelming to figure out what tax forms you need to file and when they are due.

When many people think of tax deadlines they think April 15th, but there are actually a lot of forms and taxes due in January.

Pay attention to estimated tax payments that are due quarterly, 1099s, W2s, 940, 941 that are all due in January.

Remember if you are an S Corporation owner you need to be paying yourself a reasonable salary and filing payroll tax returns in January.

1099s can be confusing, but the short of it is if you have paid someone more than $600 for services and they are not a corporation and you did not pay them with a credit card you likely need to issue them a 1099-NEC  These are due January 31st.  My quick word of advice on this is get in the habit of issuing your vendors a W9 prior to paying them for services.  It can be tricky to track people down that you've paid during the year, but it is much easier to have them the fill it out prior to them getting paid.
